Our Solutions

Our research efforts are focused on designing solutions that will outperform their respective benchmarks over the long term on a risk-adjusted basis, while delivering steady and stable growth. We derive our edge from a number of key intellectual ideas and methodologies that we have developed with respect to understanding and measuring economic and valuation concepts. Our models are all quantitative and rules based. They are built and tested with data that spans decades and are designed for long term investors who wish to take a more active approach as compared to a passive index solution.

We offer our models in the form of two solutions. The first solution, namely Enduring Portfolio Solution, is a comprehensive solution; a strategic allocation plus a tactical overlay. Planetary Alpha Solution, our second solution, is an optional add-on that takes individual asset allocations from the first solution and puts them to work in our alpha models.

Enduring Portfolio Solution is our master asset allocation solution. It is designed with the objective of providing steady growth over the long term while keeping draw-downs at a tolerable level, and with significantly higher risk adjusted returns than the standard 60/40 benchmark. Overall, it is a relatively simple, one-stop, diversified, long-term planning solution.

Planetary Alpha Solution is offered as an optional add-on to the Enduring Portfolio Solution. You can take advantage of our proprietary research and participate in these solutions at no extra charge. Currently, Planetary Alpha comprises a suite of five proprietary index and country level models for the global equity markets and one model for the bond component. As we develop new solutions for other asset classes, these will be subsequently added to the Alpha Solutions basket. These models are offered as a single package, and by choosing it, you agree to the addition of future solutions.

You can always split your investment between Enduring and Planetary, provided it meets the minimum investment requirements for each solution.

Implementation

The solutions are implemented using ETF’s. The following chart shows the current list of ETF’s used in our solutions. The top half lists the ETF’s for the Enduring Portfolio, and the bottom half are the ETF’s used for our Planetary Alpha Solution. The operating expenses are shown next to each ETF. Criteria for selecting ETF’s include capturing our desired exposure, fees, liquidity, and sponsor reputation.
